In April, network operator Digita Oy will open its @450 commercial service, which is based on Flash-OFDM technology.
"Flash-OFDM is an effective, pure IP-technology, and by using the 450 MHz band we can cover large areas from one base station," said Perttu Nihti, business development manager at Digita.
Nihti believes that most major mobile broadband technologies will be rolled out in Finland and elsewhere. The success of different services will depend on the customer-operator relationship, interoperability, and roaming.
"Pricing plays very important role in these new networks. It has to be simple, understandable, and also profitable for the whole service chain."
